I like many others have just found your blog and I am so glad. I love doing embroidery. Vintage towels would be great in my kitchen would be great right now especially since my dishwasher decided to quit working. Sewing with Kass is really cute because I have been teaching my granddaughter how to do some stitching. I don't have a blog but will be adding you to my favorites.

Favorite Post - your kidding right! I sat here for hours drooling all over my laptop! You are amazing! The detail of your patterns is amazing! If I have to pick something I have to say it is the idea on sprucing up plain cheap dish cloths/towels! What an awesome idea! And who couldn't use new cloths/towels! I"m on my way to Walmart now! Check out my blog for my post and button! I want in!

You know what these towels made me think of? Embroidering towels like this with my grandma when I was a young girl. And then the towels I got from her when she died. They are my favorites. I still have them - I will never give them up.

Honestly I haven't finished going through ALL your older posts yet, since I just found you a few days ago...but I absolutely LOVE looking at you June 9th post and all the doillies and pretty crochet hankercheifs and table scarfs. I have so many from my Grandmother and tag slaes. I love the put them out for the seasons under lamps and baskets, etc.

As soon as I have some more time I plan to troll through all your patterns and make some lovely kitchen towels of my own from your patterns! Thanks!

Vintage Mondays because of those cute cats. Love them and remember my mother having them when I was a little girl.

Dolores said...

On April 27th you featured vintage hankies. My mother always used hankies and it was the one thing my children could buy for her for her birthday or Christmas that we all knew she would use. Hers were less colourful but I loved looking at yours.

I love these tea towels! I have made a couple sets, but you have some patterns that I have never seen before!

My fave blog as of right now is Crazy Mom Quilts (http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/) because she always has such great projects, and her posts are always enjoyable to read!

I love embroidered dish towels. I have a wonderful set from my grandmother that I use to cover my china and silver to protect them.....I do not plan to use those towels for anything that will leave a stain. :) On the other hand, the rest of my towels get a daily work out!!!! I want to start making up sets to have ready for my own children to use when they are married and on their own. :)

I'm so glad I found your blog, it's just full of fantastic ideas and inspiration. I think my favourite of your posts (so far, as I'm going back through your archives) is "My friend Linda." I just love her quilts, they're so well made!
I like the Scotty Dogs patterns, but I think I'd have to choose the Setting the Table set. They're too cute!
Thankyou for the opportunity, and I agree, we need to keep vintage embroidery alive!
Hugs, a new fan!

What a great blog! Got the link from Quilting With Ragdolls and will now be sleepless while I check out all goodies...

I love the Scotty Dogs...my Mom and her best friend are 86 and have been friends since grade school...when they were in their early teens my Grandmother bought them each a scotty dog purse...

A few years ago my Mom's friend Bea gave me her purse...it's in beautiful condition and I treasure it...Mom still has her purse too...

Bea worked in a bakery and every few weeks my Grandmother would stitch her a new apron with embroidery or appliques...she still has a few and is looking forward to passing them on to me and my sisters...

Love of handwork is the best thing I've inherited from my Grandmother...worth far more than anything money can buy~

I would love to win these dish towels. I remember my mother and grandmother using some similar with the days of the week embroidered on them.

My favorite post is the one of your sewing night with Kassidy. I think it's important that we pass on skills such as sewing to the younger generation. I am teaching my granddaughters to sew, I already taught my daughter. It is so much fun to see the joy in the eyes of a child after they complete their first project! And it is a part of their heritage.

Ok I am going to try this again, I can't find my post I just tried to leave the post and cannot find it, so if I left 2 sorry.

Oh my goodness you can't seriously believe we can pick just one favorite post, can you? I just found your blog through Jodi, simply this and that blog and I have already read every one of your posts I love them all! I especially love the quilts you design, can you give me lesson? I don't know how you applique such small pieces.
My favorite post, if you really think I can choose, would have to be June 26 the Cottage Garden tour. Oh how you have such talent and foresight....May I just come live with you and your family? Now I am just left with wanting to see the rest of your house! Oh please!

My favourite post is Vintage Monday - Embroidered Dishtowel's, it was like getting a hug from my gramma. Her "tea-towels" as we call them were always embroidered.
My mother taught me how to embroider on them and pillowcases, I still have some of them on my pillows today, tattered and threadbare but that little leaping lamb still makes me smile. Thanks for putting my name in, I just found your blog and can't wait to read all of your posts. Thank you.

This is my first visit to your blog and I just love it. It's difficult to choose just one post that appeals to me most because I'm finding so many fun items... Sew Nights With Kass, Vintage Mondays, your Ode to 1930s quilt, the wallpaper of your blog, etc... great job.

Will have to pass on posting your button on my site though, because I'm on vacation and using hubby's laptop. It's not very cooperative. But I will be visiting often.
