Busy Bee wears an Apron

These busy bees are dressed and ready for the domestic life!....

The other day while out shopping...I spotted these cute little bees with heart wings...the bees are made from metal and painted....

I thought to myself....these would be really cute to add to the summer decor in my family room....

There was only one thing they needed to fit right into the style of my little cottage....

Aprons!....Busy bees should wear aprons don't you think? I wear one when I'm busy!

So I brought them home....

And made an apron for each and every one.....

And turned them into a whole hive of "worker bees".

I kept one for myself....

And packaged up the rest to give away to some of my busy bee quilting friends that I met up with yesterday....
Sherri from A Quilting Life came in from out of state and we had a fun day shopping together along with her cutie pie SIL Leann, and 3 of my BFF's Susann, Rae Ann and Nanette.

I put each of them in a little cellophane bag...

And tied it up with tule.
I used my blog cards as a tag.

I had these cards made up last year when I first started blogging.
I had them made into the convenient size of a bookmark....

When they are folded in half....they become a double sided business card!
For those who may not know...this is a picture of me under the hairdryer when I was 3 years old. The picture is at the bottom of my blog. I use it alot and it's my favorite childhood picture!

Later I will be announcing the winner to my 200th post giveawey.....and tomorrow I will post a little tute on how to make these little busy bee aprons....so stay tuned!
Have a quilty kind of day!
xxLori

Lori - you are so creative. I dropped by to tell you that I ordered three, maybe four, of your patterns day before yesterday. I am so excited I can't remember what I ordered! I am stalking the mail man. He thinks I am nuts, but that's okay. I just might be. I love you card/bookmark idea and the bees are so cute...how lucky your friends are. ~Kelly

Those are too cute! Your friends are so lucky! The chairs, tho have a special meaning to me. My grandparents had those chairs when I was little and I loved sitting in one under the tree with my grandpa.

Thanks for sharing your great idea!

I love mine. It is on my shelf in the sewing room but I'm going to move it to the entryway. It is so cute I want everyone that comes in my house to see it.
