Sew Cherry 2 - Scrappy Crossroads Block Tutorial!!

Hello again and happy Monday!
I want to tell you about
 what I've been making :)

I'm having so much fun playing with
Sew Cherry 2 that I can't stop...
and I hope it's okay to continue
sharing my projects?

I'm super excited to make this quilt with you...
and next week we will start the

YaY!

Last week I showed you this
that I made using
some leftovers after cutting the kit.

I cut more 2 1/2" squares...
48 to be exact...

And chose a fat quarter...
( aqua pin dot background)
and cut 8 - 4 1/2" squares...

And made this!!

A few years ago I did a tutorial for the
Scrappy Crossroads Block.

to see my tutorial

It's one of my very favorite go to
scrappy happy blocks and
I just knew it would be
perfect in Sew Cherry 2.

It measures
 16 1/2" x 16 1/2" unfinished
which means using my
16 1/2" Trim-It Ruler
is perfect for squaring it up:)

That's the one we are using
 for the
Sweetie Pie Sew Along!

*Quilty Math*
One block would be a super cute pillow...
3 blocks would make a 16" x 48"  table runner
9 blocks would make a 48" square table topper
12 blocks would be an awesome crib quilt
48" x 64" (3x4 setting)
20 blocks would be a great
lap, wall or twin bed quilt
64" x 80" (4 x 5 setting)
and 36 blocks would be a gorgeous
queen size quilt finishing at 96" x 96"
(6 x 6 setting)

I'm going for the queen size
 because
I really want a Sew Cherry 2
quilt on my bed!
I'll show you my progress
 each step of the way:)

I still have a
few fun surprise projects
besides the
 Sweetie Pie Quilt
that we can make
during our sew along...
it's going to be so fun!

See you next Monday...
are you ready?
xx

  1. Love this Block, Lori! Made a table runner when you first showed your tutorial and it sits on our bedroom dresser. I've always wanted to make a quilt with this block. And - yes, it is definitely okay to continue sharing your projects with us :)!!

  3. The fabric is just great. I used to love the more traditional fabrics... but now we have the cutest baby granddaughter in the world... I'm attracted to bright and colourfull fabrics...
