Sophie Belle

I thought that I would like you to meet the tiny girl that Kass and I have been sewing for! She is my grandaughter and of course Kassidy's niece, Sophia Isabella. We call her Sophie Belle. She is 7 weeks old and doing well after being born so tiny. Her Daddy is our oldest son Ben and her Mommy is my cute DIL, Nicky.

Look at her tiny little feet....don't you just want to kiss them?

We got to take care of her all day for the first time yesterday and we had a great bonding time! Kassidy fed her and loved on her and wanted to put her in the swing and then in her bouncer and basically watch every move she made...although she didn't want to change her :)

More feet.... I just can't stop zooming in on those toes!

This is Sterling. He is our 12 year old. He brings alot of sunshine into our lives! He is a bright, thoughtful and funny kid. He likes to hang out with his friends playing video games, shooting hoops and jamming on his electric guitar. He really loves to hunt and fish with his Dad, Mr.Honey. He also spends alot of time in the kitchen...you know 12 year old boys are bottomless pits! It seems every time we turn around he needs new pants or shoes, he is TALL- he currently wears a size10 1/2 mens shoe.
This is his first time feeding Sophie and I had a hard time getting her back from him!
He spent most of the day taking videos of her and asking alot of questions and smiling and laughing at every baby sound she made.
I can tell he's going to be a fantastic Uncle.

Yes, I know: her feet again...I really wanted to paint her toenails pink but I didn't want to get into trouble!
I thought you might want to see the quilt I had Sophie on. It's a string quilt that I made and taught before Kassidy was born. It became one of her favorites and has been everywhere and been washed and hung about a bazillion times...it's very worn and old looking - perfect!

I had a good time being with Sophie and I took her to Material Girls Quilts so that she could start checking out the fabric early! (and show her off a little). I'm allowed, after all, I'm a proud Grandma...
When Mr.Honey came home from work, he held her and fed her and played with her and made funny noises for her. He's a proud Grandpa too and loves babies. I can't believe I didn't take any pics of that. I was too busy watching and enjoying the moment. I'm thrilled to know this is just the beginning of many more to come...

  5. What a beautiful family. You will LOOOOVVVVEEE being a grandma. I'm telling you, we are all over the moon, and so sappy it's almost downright embarrasing. (almost). I think Mr. Cactus is worse than I am, and that's pretty hard to do!

Wow on the quilt. I have plans to make that quilt. I just need to schedule some time to do it. My list for summer keeps getting longer and I hope I can accomplish something.

  9. You're getting me excited for our little bundle coming in October. They think it is a girl, too. At least 80%. We'll know more in a couple weeks. I think I told you that already. Anyway the baby is BEAUTIFUL! What a lucky grandmother you are. She's perfect. And yes, I was going to ask what quilt she was snuggled next to. The quilt is lovely. I adore string quilts. So nice for your whole family to have a baby to love.
