Dear Jane at Broadbents

Well my friends.....here are the promised pictures from today's field trip at Broadbent's in Lehi. After my Dear Jane group had our luncheon, we went to see the before mentioned quilt (beautifully made by Laurel Verhaaren) in all of it's glory. .....
Let me tell you ladies....it did not dissapoint.
We were lucky enough to show up while Laurel was working so I was able to snap a pic with her beside the masterpiece.

Just incredible isn't it? An inspiration to all of us that have not finished our own Dear Jane as of yet.
Our group has been working on it for a year ....we meet the first Monday of every month for our luncheon and showing of blocks....this summer has pretty much just been a luncheon LOL! Our goal is to take as long to finish our quilt as the Civil War lasted. (4 yrs.)
I think it's safe to say that we are well on our way to reaching our goal!!!
P.S. If anyone is interested, this amazing quilt was quilted by Wren Woodland. What an amazing job she did! I'm sure that you could call Broadbent's (801-768-9201) and ask for her number.

  6. Laurel continues to amaze us! I bought the CD to do Dear Jane years ago and it still sits in a cupboard.
And I remember when Wren was just starting her business. She does most of Nanette's quilts too. Great work!

  18. A beauty for sure. Did she do her own machine quilting? I admire that someone can actually finish a DJ. It is a real commitment to finishing one.

  20. Laurel used to be in my parents ward. In fact her husband was their bishop a long time ago. She's so talented that I'm very jealous, secretly. Well not anymore I guess. But she's really someone amazing.
