Lots of Show and Tell...

.....from our last Clothesline Club and alot of it was from our teacher Sandra Mack. I just love this 1930's Christmas quilt...it was this months project. It reminds me of peppermints and candy canes.
Remember Sandra's yo-yo's in a jar that I showed last time? Now she has started putting them together for her quilt she has been planning.....purple and yellow solids and all of the rest are prints.




All of the socks below were made by Sandra over the years for every member of her family...every time she gets a new grandbaby she makes them a sock too. These socks are amazing and alot of work but well worth it as they will I'm sure become a family heirloom.
I actually made one of them for Ben when he was 15.
They are made from a kit designed and put together by a company here in Utah called
Sheperds Bush....they have amazing heirloom stitchery patterns. All of the glass beads, charms, ribbon, floss and linen comes in the kit.

It's almost time for our next meeting....I'm so late on posting these pictures. The holidays have really put me behind! I hope you are all having fun decorating your homes for the holidays....

    I love your show and tells, I almost feel like I'm there. Those Shepherd's Bush stockings are beautiful. My 2 sister in laws have made them for their children. I think my favorite quilt is the "Comforts of home" on the wall:) I will be flying in on December 10, and can't believe I will actually be there for the paper dolls class. See you then!

    That little green and red quilt is so festive, love the stockings I needle pointed my childrens stockings but these are wonderful love them.

    that is a very cute Christmas Quilt - and I would have never guessed those to be 30's fabrics.

    Hi, Lori - Always enjoy your clothesline club posts. I am intrigued by the stockings - back in the 70's I did some crossstich that I bet was designed by the same designer. It was the same style, same lovely colors and there is a big sampler packed away in the basement someplace that I had forgot about. However, I probably won't go searching for it! I'm going to look on the internet for Shepard's Bush. Enjoy the season!! Carol

    Oh, I'm behind too! On reading posts and everything else. I love your show and tell. What works of true art! I made stockings for my children. And my husband and I have Victorian stockings I made in the crazy quilt fashion with hand embroidery and beads I did about twelve years ago. Handmade is always best!

    I love the churndash quilt- what a festive look it has.
    The stockings are amazing- and a real treasure for their owners- Each one is spectacular.
