Scrappy squares...

See these scrappy squares?
Well....Do you remember the custom made especially for me honey-bun?
I told you about it last week...anyhoo...

It's what I have been working with this last few days in my studio. I used it to cut alot of squares...and I mean alot!

I had 1 1/2" squares everywhere...and I mean literally everywhere in my studio because it has been so stinkin hot here....

And so I had my fan on and my squares were flyin' around like confetti...maybe in celebration of a finish!

I used over 1000 of them....

To make these 1" finished squares...

Which are the sections for joining the blocks together in this quilt....

My "Paper Doll" quilt!
I dropped it off to my friend Helen for quilting yesterday morning....whooo hooo!

  1. I'm sure you're excited to get it back. I know I would be bouncing around waiting by the phone.

This is going to be another special heirloom. By the way, who gets the quilt someday? Kassidy or Sophie? You just might have to make another one or they could take turns each year.

  6. Congratulations on a finish of your quilt. I've loved seeing it come together month after month.
And those 1" squares look challenging. I don't even see a pin, and yet they all match perfectly.

  10. Holy Cow. Oh my gosh. I'm dying to see this quilt. Your applique is like painting. It is perfect. I admire your talent so much. And the tiny squares!!! Really I just can't wait. Remember I'm leaving on Monday with very very limited internet (you know what I mean in Star Valley and my sister is 40 min outside afton on a dirt road). So before I leave I want to see this. Get better. Pass that darn thing!

Have you ever thought about doing a post on applique to help out all of us who do not live near by? I would love to have pointers from you. Thanks for all your wonderful posts.
