Side-tracked...

Do you ever have a project that you are faithfully working on and you really need to finish...and you have a major deadline....and you get a little side-tracked?

And you feel like baking instead of sewing?

And so you make Pink Lemonade Cupcakes?

And you set them out on your pink depression glass plate because they match so well?

And you fall in love with the swirly pink frosting with little bits of lemon zest and sugar sprinkles on top?

And you watch your daughter feed one to your grandaughter?

And she doesn't know if she likes it?

And then decides that she does?

And she wants more?

And she gets a pink frosting beard (and mustache)?

Well I do.
And that's what I did this morning.
Yummy recipe HERE.

I love your blog. If this is an indication of your creativity, you are truly blessed.
First, you daughter feeding your grandaughter is delightful. My first niece is 7 years younger than I, so I was the one doing the feeding, great memories.
Second, tell me again why we aren't neighbors so I can get a care package?? I'd gladly make something for you to get some!

  5. The frosting beard is just too precious! Isn't being a grandma the BEST? Moments like cupcakes are too important to let pass by. I think you made the wise choice for the day.

  6. Such a darling post, Lori. The pictures of your little girl and granddaughter are priceless. You should open a cupcake shoppe! Heavens to betsy, I have never made any icing that looks like that so swirly and gorgeous. Do you pipe it out of something? Good job - and fun post. Carol
