I knew that as soon as she saw the cute little owl purse on the cover that she would want to make one on our next "sew nite"...and that's just what we did!
Kass thought it would be perfect for the lining.
I got out my stash of 1 1/2" strips and asked Kassidy to choose 7 different fabrics for the purse front and back using the lining print to match up the colors.
This is what she chose. She did good, don't you think? The brown polka dot is for the beak.
Kassidy looked at the pattern and laid out the strips in the order that she wanted to sew them.
I cut the lining and batting for her....here she is pinning before she sews....
...what a good little seamstress!
I put the zipper in for her but I asked her to watch me every step of the way...for future reference!

Here's what an owl looks like when he's winking at you!...lol
Ready for binding....
It's just the right size to carry just what she needs ...like... her ipod & earbuds, her library card, a coin purse, a hanky, a few pieces of bubblegum and also some lip gloss of course!
And if you would like to make one for yourself...I highly recommend it! It was fast easy and fun.
The purse was designed by Terry Atkinson and is called "In Cahoots"...thanks Terry for the adorable project!...you helped to make it another fun "sew nite with Kass"!
Kass did a great job! How wonderful to be able to sew together.
