Over the weekend Kass and I made a quick trip to JoAnn's Fabrics.
While we were there...guess what I spied sitting so quietly on a shelf?
Yep....you guessed it!
17 bolts of Denyse Schmidt fabric!
I couldn't believe my luck! You all know how hard it is to find her fabric:)
Apparently she has a brand new line that she has designed for JoAnns.
I would describe it as a cross between Flea Market Fancy and Katie Jump Rope...very cool and very vintage.
I picked up a piece of each but there are probably more bolts that will trickle in I assume.
We also looked through the pattern books as we always do when we go there...and found this modern quilt pattern by Denyse that Kassidy wants to make for her bed.
I waited until this morning to go pick it up because it was on sale for 99 cents today.
So just a heads up for you girls...if you are a Denyse Schmidt fan like I am...you better plan a trip to JoAnns A.S.A.P!...(and don't forget your coupons)
Thanks for visiting me and I hope you all have a quilty kind of day today:)
xx
Lori
P.S. The quality of the fabric line is excellent...it's in the "fine fabrics section"...and retails for 9.99 per yard.
What a lovely range! Just a shame in the UK and not in the USA :(
ReplyDeleteWe have Fabricland here in Canada that carries Michael Millar.. I hope that there is some of her designs there for us.
ReplyDeleteLove, all the colours so bright and cheery...so you!
They are gorgeous...I am on my way to the store! How is the quality?
ReplyDeleteoh, I'm loving the aqua and green set :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Was the quality of the fabric like what we're used to in quilt shops? If so, that's a great find! I love the polkadots -- too cute!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, thanks for the heads up. It's nice to find these little gems at JoAnn's.
ReplyDeleteI'd be curious about the quality, too but they are cute.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so heading to JoAnn's ;0)
ReplyDeleteI love those beautiful spring greens!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize JoAnn's carried first runs of good fabric! So good to know! I will be on the hunt now, especially knowing I can use my coupons.
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! An excuse to go to Joanns & buy fabric ;P
ReplyDeleteWow...I love the red, white & blue fabrics and the pattern :)
Smiles, DianeM
What a find! I was at Joann's last week and didn't see it - I always look at the quilting fabrics but never buy them because of the quality - I didn't know they had a "special section!" Thanks and good luck to you on your market quilts - I can't wait to see them! xo, Nan
ReplyDeleteGulp. I never go to Joanns, well, hardly ever. I'm stunned. Beautiful fabric. Her eye is amazing isn't it. What a sweet deal. I guess I need to go to Joann's too!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check it out at my Joanns today. I am armed with my coupons.
ReplyDeletei need to go get some!! I'm so jealous because the nearest joanns is almost an hour away (and it's usually filthy dirty! eek)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'll have to check that out this week.
ReplyDeleteI really like the fabric. I have not seen it. I will have to look. I like making totes, baby blankets and embroidering with my machine and personalizing names. I can't wait to get some fabric!
ReplyDeleteI am going to check my Joann Fabrics tomorrow. Thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's great news. Wish we had Joanns here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteSo here is my qustion; is JoAnns fabric as good as quality as the quilt shops? How can you tell? I've always been told to only buy my fabric at quilt shops and that chain stores don't carry good quality fabric. I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)
ReplyDeleteguess I need to break down and go into a joanns again!
ReplyDeletewow these are adorable!
love those colors!!!
thanks for the info
Kathie
OH. My. Goodness. Gracious. You know me well - I love it!! And of course, I was right by JoAnn's yesterday wouldn't you know it! But I had a mini van full of kids, so I couldn't have gone in anyway. But the Monday after Spring Break, I'm making a bee-line!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I LOVE the nine patch quilt below. So adorable!
Really!!! Are you kidding me???!!! Now I have to see why the heck Joann's is taking so long to send me their coupons in the mail as I have just moved to NC! Thanks for the HUGE heads up!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute fabric! Knowing you, what ever project you do with it, will make it that much more darling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find and thanks for sharing! I am heading over there tonight!
ReplyDeletelove this! very cute. How many coupons can one use per trip? I heard there were some you could download to your phone and use WITH the paper coupons. I'd love to stop up on the red/white prints as basics with maybe smaller cuts of the other prints.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteYes!! Thanks for the report. :)
ReplyDeleteI went to JoAnn's today and didn't find the fabric. I asked and was told they didn't have it. I wasn't sure what to call it, so I asked for Denyse Schmidt fabric. Does the fabric have a name. I want to go back and look again.
ReplyDeleteI love her fabric, but it is hard to find her stuff. Thanks for sharing. And the pattern is cool too, with my net visit I will go through the books too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up! I got the fabric but did not have as much avriety as you! Also got the pattern- it is $15.95 regularly!!!!
ReplyDeleteBack for more fabric to take to a friend in the UK for a gift; the quality is good. I usually don't get much fabric there as it is a bit dicey!
Thanks for the tip, I haven't bought fabric at Joann's in quite a while. Went this morning and there it was, good quality and so pretty.....can't wait to see your latest projects!
ReplyDeleteI was in our JoAnns yesterday and sadly they do not have it. boo hoo.
