Stitchy Love and How I Keep and Organize my Embroidery Thread...


It's no secret that I love to stitch.
I have told you that my stitchy love affair began at the
 early age of 6 when my grandma taught me how to do 
my very first Lazy Daisy:)


Thru the years I have used countless ways of storing and organizing my embroidery threads...but keeping them on a clothespin has been my very favorite method.

I simply wrap the floss around a pin...
clipping the end so that it won't unravel.

I write the number directly onto the clothespin with a pigma marker.


 I keep them in a large vintage jar.
I drilled a hole in the lid...
spray painted it and added a glass knob.


A cute...colorful...and easy storage method.


I keep the jar in my studio so that it's close by whenever I'm feelin' stitchy:)

    This was so clever!!! I am a stitcher too and I love your new stitchery pattern and I want to order it. Can I do it directly from you, or can you name a shop that will sell it :)

    i like the clothespin idea. My Aunt made me a cloth book that has ziplock bags sewn in to it. I use that to store my embroidery floss. :)

    Hi Lori! Love the clothespin idea. I'm also a stitcher, but have way too many floss colors to store in a jar!! I would need many, many jars! I use the traditional method of bobbin storage. I have 4 cases of colors. Have a Sparkling day!

    I love it! I'm always looking for unique ways to store things that are practical and beautiful, too! And those clothes pins are so much nicer than the cardboard thingies!

    Thanks for sharing. I love the way you store your embroidery threads. They look nice. In fact, very nice.

    I used to stitch when I was in high school; however, for some reasons I just lost interest of it. Instead, I am doing mostly sewing now, mainly for my little girl and for my home.

    You are one of the most creative and clever designers I know of. I really like the clothespin notion for storing embroidery thread - a lot!

    I LOVE the clothes peg idea! Never thought of it myself. I just use those plastic bobbins. I also love the design of the stitchery.

    That looks great. Wouldn't work for me because I was a hand stitcher first and have every single color and then some doubles and triples. But I really love your way.
