Yippee!
It's another episode of
We are using my latest book
And using Farm Girl Vintage fabric...
And making two blocks each week...
Until all 45 blocks are completed:)
The first Farm Girl Block
for this week is
HAPPY HORSE
on page 72 of the book.
He is just hanging out
in his green pasture being happy
because he has hay and grain
and carrots to eat...
and a quilty blanket to
keep him warm and stylish:)
He is obviously well taken care of.
He looks just like the horse
that I used to ride on our farm...
his name was Tempest.
Of course I had to do
something fun with him...
So I cut a 6" Happy Horse block...
And then cut and sewed a
12" Grandpa's Truck Block
After sewing the horse I
"shortened" his legs LOL
And gave him a ride!
Now I'm hauling a sheep and a horse:)
This is so fun!
If you missed my tutorial
on how to load up a farm animal
into the back of Grandpa's Truck
for week nine's post
The next Farm Girl Block is
HONEY BEE
on page 78 of the book.
Our honey bee likes to
buzz around from flower to flower...
And buzz around the
Busy Beehive's in the
BEEKEEPERS GARDEN QUILT
on page 136 of the book.
And honeybee likes to
"Bee"on a pin pillow LOL
I made eight of the
Farm Girl Pin Pillows
for the book photo shoot.
The Pin Pillow instructions
are on page 196 of the book.
The 6" Farm Girl Blocks
are used for the Pin Pillows...
and you have so many to choose from!
All you need after making the block
is grab a few coordinating prints
and some of my Lg. Vintage Trim to match....
Just a few photos of when
I was choosing the backing fabric
when making a few Pin Pillows:)
When I made this one with the
Cheerful Tulips Block
I took photos of my process
so that I could show them to you
during our sew along!
Sew fun and and they really come in handy!
I love adding cute little accessories
to my Farm Girl projects...
And I think it's fun to gather
little props from around my home
to add to each block photo.
It takes me back to playing "farm"
with my little brothers:)
I made the carrots with orange linen
and then used one of the green prints
from my Farm Girl Vintage Companion
fabrics to make the carrot tops.
I tied jute bows around them
for extra cuteness:)
Last week I crocheted this cute
little bottle/vase cover
using my Chunky Thread.
The color of Chunky Thread
that I used is LIPSTICK
I thought it went really cute
with my Honeybee Block:)
Thanks for joining me this week
for our sew along.
I hope you've enjoyed our chat
about this week's blocks...
I'll meet you right back here
next week with two more!
xx

The Honey Bee block is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThese are so nice. !!!
ReplyDeleteI just got the second book and I love both of them. I've made a few blocks and they are so cute. I wish there was more time in the day to sew.
