Although the heat never seems to bother my roses....yay!
I hope you don't ever get tired of seeing them because I will always continue to show them...we have several varieties and I love them all.
I was thrilled to find johny jump-ups in a shady corner of the front yard...
Cosmos always do well in the sun...they are a heat loving flower.
Look at the tiny Chamomile blossoms in my herb garden...so cute, just like miniture daisies!
I have alot of french marigolds planted around my flowers and vegetables...they help keep the bugs away. I love their orange ruffles...
And I still have some foxglove blooming...a happy suprise!

Here are a few of about 30, all of my containers are vintage finds. I think they add alot of personality and a vintagey feel to the garden.....
I always buy old watering cans whenever I can find them....

This is an old tire swing that I used to put my babies in while they were napping so I could garden....now I fill it with flowers every spring....
This bathtub sits under my studio window...it was a gift from Mr.Honey on Mother's Day about 15 years ago! I still love it and have fun filling it to the brim with flowers each season....
I really need to cover the hole in this old ringer washer with a cute tin sign or something....right now, the flowers in all of my containers are just kind of there....
but in a few weeks, it will start to cool down a bit in the evenings and they will start to bloom in abundance and spill out over the edges for a nice full look....I'm looking forward to that.
love your garden
ReplyDeleteoh I always wanted a bathtub to put in the yard too

Roses do tend to thrive in heat. My husband had a gorgeous rose garden when I met him. We lived in the Southern California desert.
ReplyDeleteLove your fun flower containers but the ringer washer brings back lots of memories of my grandmother.
Lori you have some unique planters out there. Your garden is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the flowers in your garden. My daughter loves to garden and each spring she has new plans to expand and get her hands dirty putting flowers in different places.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a hard time keeping up with everything that you do as gardening can take up a lot of time.
Get the old cooler out there with you with the ice.
I love roses, they don't do well with me, but I do love them.
Wow, Lori, your garden is spectacular! All of your "flower pots" are just wonderful. The old wringer washing machine made me giggle - I used one of those darned things for some time after I was married and even did diapers in one. Got automatic after both kids were out of diapers. Thank you for the tour - you're a gal after my own heart. Carol
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful garden Lori, it loks so inviting, and I love how you have used old and odd objects as your containers, it gives the garden such character.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden! The flowers are spectacular!
ReplyDeleteYou call Salt Lake a heatwave? Huh! Just kidding, because I know it's been hot for you. They say we are actually going below 100 by Friday, so that means you will be cooling down too.
ReplyDeleteLovely garden features!
