Vintage Monday - Fall Finds

The other day I stopped by one of my favorite antique shops to do some browsing.....I had an hour to kill in between appointments and I was in the area...so of course my little SUV automatically pulled into it's regular parking spot... LOL!!!
I picked up this set of 3 painted vintage frames....oooooh, I have BIG plans for these and I will share when the time comes.
The frames are 8" x 10" and the perfect green....

I also found 5 silver soup spoons to use in my kitchen.....adorable and just in time for the soup season!

I found two more vintage pot holders to add to my already large collection...too cute to pass up and they were a bargain! ...(one of my requirements for a vintage purchase)...

I havn't showed you my collection of vintage cookbook leaflets yet...maybe next time but I found this one to add to my shelf. The recipes use canned milk...I love the picture of this pumpkin pie....

The back cover advertising local radio programs......those were the good old days when in the evenings families would gather round to have a listen....... and eat pie.....

But not before enjoying a fabulous homecooked meal from the suggested menu inside....made by Mom wearing her favorite apron......Mmmm mmm good.

  1. Fun and interesting finds at the antique store. I really loved the pot holders and the frames are going to really look nice around whatever you put in them. The cook book is really neat too!

  3. I always get a kick out of the fact that I have some serious antiques in my kitchen that I am still using. It's so cool that you younger girls love the things that were popular in the fifties when I was a young housewife and mom. I used to have a lot of the flowered tableclothes that I used all the time and had to wash and iron them - in a wringer washer! Ah, memories! Glad you found some good stuff, Lori. Enjoy. Carol

  5. Good finds, and the green frames are the absolute perfect color for sure. Geez, I'm so curious about the vegetable meat loaf and deviled macaroni squares recipes; could you possibly post those? Those old recipe booklets are such a kick.

  8. I'm going to be up that way again next month...can you share the source of these wonderful antiques? I'm hoping to pick up a quilt ladder or two from Gardner Village as well...thinking I'll call ahead and buy it before I come!

  9. More wonderful finds. The whirligig behind the frames was all I could look at. I screwed up my whirligig I cut out this weekend. Ick. How could I do that?
