Happy ME day...

Today I'm teaching this new block at Material Girls. Just in case you can't tell...it goes into my Paper Doll quilt....lol
This is Kassidy's apron...although it looks sort of like it could be a dress instead. I think she looks cute wearing it when she bakes with Grandma!

Grandma teaches Kass how to mix up the cookie dough in the trusty and reliable Mix Master...(did any of you learn how to bake using one of these like I did?)

Kassidy always cares about fashion....even in the kitchen. She has an oven mitt to match her apron.

Grandma says..."scrape the sides of the bowl often.....

....and measure carefully."

Here are the cookies...no...they are not burnt. They are chocolate chocolate chip cookies! LOL

Kassidy had a fun afternoon with Grandma.

Yes...it will be a good day to teach at Material Girls because that is one of my very favorite places to be and today is happy ME day...yes...it's my birthday. And today I choose ME.
After teaching, I will drop off my Family Reunion quilt to my friend Helen for quilting (yay! it's done) ....and then spend the evening with my family ...and packing for the 3 day American Quilting retreat that will start early tomorrow morning.
I can't wait....for the rest of the week it's all about me (I'm already feeling a bit selfish)...but I'll get over it!
I've had so many deadlines lately that I'm looking forward to a little rest and relaxation....
Of course there will plenty of pictures to share with you when I get home.

Have a great week everyone!

Your details in your quilts are so fantastic. I told Nanette I wish I was going on the retreats. Have the best of time and rest up.

  4. Happy Birthday! I hope you get lots of good loot :).

I love the Paper Dolls quilt. I think it is my favorite of yours so far. I came across it 3 months in and almost signed up for the club late, but with the holidays approaching I decided that I'd better wait for the pattern to come out instead. I love all the fun details you've put into each block of the quilt.

Someday, I hope to be able to take one of your classes. Thanks for sharing your talents! You are amazing!

  12. Happy Birthday. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. I'm drooling over the Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies way over here in Washington State. Remember the old time Mix Masters. My mom made a revolving cake
plate (lazy Susan) out her old one when the motor quit. I think I have it somewhere, I used it under our old Scrabble game.

  24. Hi There Lori, I not only learned about baking by using the Mix Master, I have my Grandma's! I suppose that it is from the 40's or 50's. I love it for my chocolate chip cookies and whenever I make mint meringues.
