Wednesday W.I.P....

This W.I.P.(work in progress) is my latest on the design wall...teeny little quilty blocks that I call "bobbins".

I have been using my scrappy stash of 1 1/2" strips to make them.
They're so fun to make!...all in different shades just like the wound-up bobbins full of colorful threads in my sewing drawer:)

And where do bobbins come from?...Spools of course!
I've also been making larger blocks that I call "spools".

I've been making the spools using my scrappy stash of 2 1/2" strips...

I like the way that they are looking when placed together...how about you?
So quilty and vintagey scrappy at the same time.

I've been using a fun and easy tool to help me make them ... hopefully I'll be able to share it with you next week.
When I've made enough "Bobbins and Spools"...I'll put them together (I have several options in mind)...and add a pieced border.
I'd love to hear what you have going on todayI hope its a quilty one!
Do you have a Wednesday W.I.P???

  1. Love your bobkins and bobbins. My WIP for Weds. is putting rows together for a stretched star quilt. Then to finally get to that bag that is cut and waiting..

  8. Love this. Really like the two blocks together. Where do I get the pattern or will it be one of yours? I will be pressing some backing fabric and doing some cutting.

  12. I love your bobbins and spools! I'm working on some mug rugs for my daughters and the boyfriends. Using up lots of scraps since they're small and very freeform.

  17. Love the spools. I love to see what you are up to. So I'm glad you have something SEW fun to show us, despite your occupation with fabric designs.
