Good Monday morning cute people!
I hope you all had a super sew-y weekend:)
It's time to join all of the rows in the
together at last!
YaY!!!
I've been waiting for this day:)
Feel free to sew yours in whatever order you wish...
or you can do it just like I did.
But keep in mind a few things before sewing them together.
1. Make sure that all of your rows measure the same width.
2. Make sure that your top row is one that already has the
background sashing sewn onto the top and bottom.
3. Continue by alternating a row with
no sashing and a row with sashing.
This way you will be sure to end up
with sashing in between each row
and sashing along the bottom.
4. You can never pin too much!!!
When you are sewing two rows together...
find the center of each row by
folding them in half and
place your first pin there.
Continue pinning out from each side...
begin sewing them together and
remove the pins as you go.
5. Always sew a little slower than
normal when sewing rows together.
If you sew too fast...
it is easy to get off on your
1/4" seam allowance and
end up with "wavy" rows.
6. By sewing slowly...
you will also be able to make sure
that all of the seams stay the
direction that you pressed them and
not flip the wrong way.
7. If you have followed all of my measurements
exactly for each row...
It will measure correctly
for all of your rows to be sewn together.
This measurement is necessary for the
inner borders and pieced border to fit:)
Okay!!!
Start sewing:)
I hope all of you are still
having fun with the row along...
it's almost summer which means the
Bee in my Bonnet Row Along
will officially come to an end on July 1st...
so you better hurry!
Have a sewing your rows together
quilty kind of day!
xx
Lori

ReplyDeleteHave printed off instructions to all the rows, but I want to use bright, cute fabric like yours!! I'm currently living in Belgium where fabric, when I can find it, is very expensive. LOVE your blog!!

Yay! Can't wait to get started laying out my rows. I had to do a little bit of unsewing of my butterfly row today to fix a mistake that only I would notice. Now the layout can begin!
