My Blue Plate Special quilt pattern is
now available and just added to my etsy shop
Of course I used aqua for the plate centers...
bringing me to name it the Blue Plate Special
which is reminiscent of a favorite hometown diner:)
The quilt is 72" square...
each giant dresden is machine appliqued
onto a 36" square background.
Even one giant dresden on a 36" background square
would make an adorable table topper!
They are super easy to make using the Thimble Rulers and 10" squares.
For this quilt I used several 10"squares from each of my fabric lines.
The smaller dresdens are made with 5" squares and the small Thimble Ruler.
When I designed this ruler...
I had a vision of making lots of chubby dresdens
including giant ones...and now
my vision has come true!
Just 9 of them would make a King Size quilt!!!
And the circles for the small dresden centers
are easy peasy with my Circle Rulers:)
Also included in the pattern are 4 "Plate Mats"...
these are really fun to make and I love
the way that they look in my kitchen!
I used 4 fat quarters for the tops...
each placemat has one of the FQ on it...
just in a different area.
I made pockets on the side for utensils:)
And made napkin rings too!
We like to use flour sack dishtowels for napkins at our house...
sometimes we even use vintage ones
that are a little bit worn but still charming:)
These napkin rings look so cute wrapped around them.
And they are also long enough to
wrap around a rolled up placemat for a picnic!
Lastly included in the pattern are
2 Hot "Plates"
You only need 22 - 5" squares and two 10" squares
for the background and you can make two:)
The backs are a 4-patch and I used my Circle Ruler to make them round!
I'm so excited to be releasing another new Bake Sale pattern...
I love this line so much that
I seriously can't stop
making things with it!
The rest of this post shows more pictures of the Quilt...
Plate Mats and Hot Plates...
in no particular order.
get it while it's hot!!!
xx
