When I was a little girl, my grandma taught me how to crochet several things and I have done so every now and then throughout my life and enjoyed every minute of it....
However, back then I was much too impatient to learn how to read crochet instructions properly and I just wanted to be shown how.
Well, I'm still the same today when it comes to crocheting and that's why I love Cassie's tutorial so much....
I made 4 pillowcases....
It felt good to be crocheting again and I have been doing several little projects since which I will show at another time....
but in the meantime....hop on over to see Cassie's fabulous tutorial on her cutie pie blog "You Go Girl"....
Cassie has 4 parts to her tutorial...
week 1 - ready to rumble...which lists all of the supplies needed
week2 - posh pillowcase...which gives fabulous sewing instructions for the pillowcase
week3 - firm foundation...which shows you how to prepare the edge for crocheting
week4 - crochet like crazy...which of course shows you how to crochet
All of these tutes are on her sidebar under the title "on the edge tutorials"
I promise that you won't be sorry for the visit...she has a fabulous blog.
My Kassidy fell in love with it too and she asked me to teach her to crochet...so I did....she didn't make pillowcases but I will show you in my next post what she did make.
Thank you Cassie for a really fun project...I had a blast making them and I'm sure I'll make even more...because now I'm addicted!

very beautifull.*-*.
Beauties! All of them! I'm "hooked" on these things too. I just finished another this week and find myself buying fabric just to make them. I love the blue and pink one especially. I think they would make great get well gifties.
These crochet edges are beautiful! My grandmother crocheted and things like this remind me of her. She tried and tried to teach me to crochet over the years - I only got as far as a double crochet stitch o:)
I am still using the beautiful white cotton pillow cases my grandmother made for my wedding gift in 1960. They have 6 inch crocheted edges that have held up for almost 50 years now. Can't bet quality and love combined.
I'm in trouble! Now I want to drop everything I'm doing and run over and make pillow cases.
I love your colors of fabrics and yarns...everything! I know I've mentioned this before, but I want to follow you around and do everything you do. Great tutorial that looks easy to follow. You Go Girl is now on my sidebar.
Can I ask what yarn you ended up using??? I am a new crocheter ( is that a word) and need ALL the facts (G)!!! Beautiful work. I am inspired.
Okay Lori... all I need is another project! I love to crochet and seeing you adorable pillowcases has made me want to run find my yarn and hook and get going on it! Or... you could just pitch that blue rose one my way.. LOL! I LOVE how you have used two different fabrics on each side. Very lovely!
Lori, thanks for showing the most loveliest pillowcases! I'm drooling again:) LOL! I DON'T crochet so I am going to try and hit up my mom to do that part!
Your Posh Pillowcases look fabulous! It's a fun project, no? Thanks too for the kind words, Lori.
Take care,
Cassie @ You Go Girl
I love these!!!! I have no idea how to crochet--think I can figure it out?? Wait! Jeremy knows! I'll make the pillowcase, he can do the edge :)
They are beautiful. I love Cassie's blog. It is great. My favorite is seeing the crochet pillows altogether. It is beautifulness. Stimulating and tempting!
Oh MY GOODNESS Lori! These are adorable!!!!! Oh how I wish you sold your wares! I would make you richer! Have you ever thought about selling on Etsy? I know you would do well Lori! I LOVE your pillowcases!!!!
Hugs,
Maryjane

I just love the fabric you used on the bottom pink and blue pillows in the first photo. Could you share what fabrics they are? Pretty please *grin*.
I remember that tutorial, it's GREAT! I'm off to buy my hook and some yarn. Since we don't have stores or bridges to the mainland, I'll order it online and next Friday, when a friend brings us the mail I'll have it! Along with a Netflix movie... So, once I get the hang of it, you know what I'll be doing next weekend! So inspirational! thank you. XO
