I heart perle cotton...

...I like to use it for several different things besides embroidery.

I love it's chunky texture and all of the lovely colors...

I keep mine on wooden spools to keep it tangle free and extra cute.

I stamp the color number on the spool so that I can replace with another skein when gone.
Later I will show you something that I recently made using perle cotton...
Have a lovely Tuesday my friends!

I love the spools and stamping the numbers on! Do you have a favorite brand - or several?

I love the wooden spools. It would be great to have some for my hand-dyed tatting threads. Are yours vintage, or can they be found somewhere?

Your blog is very inspirational! I love your sense of color!

I love pearl cotton. I use it for many things also. One of my favorite uses for pearl is when a fine sweater is too long in the sleeves (I must have very short arms!) I cut the sleeves to the length I want them, turn up the raw edge, and then crochet a lacy border around the sleeve. Got lots of compliments on the last one I did. I never told that I had shortened the sleeves.

I like the idea of putting floss on spools. I have a lot of loose threads in a nest, so need to go through it and wind it up.

I have a lot of this thread also. Have been using for some felt projects. Love your spool idea. Are they old or new? I have a couple of old wooden spools but not nearly enough.

Hi Lori!

Those make my fingers itch, I like them so much!
I ran into American Quilting today and saw all of your quilts lining the classroom walls. I had all my kids in the car and couldn't stop to drool but my, did they look incredible all lined up!
Someday soon I'm going to get a bit of sewing time again. I can't wait.

Hope your January is giving you a lot of time in your cute sewing room!

Wow, that's a lot of cute things in 2010. I heart 1930's vintage too.
