Farm Girl Friday - Week 24 - A Quilt Label!

Good morning cute people!
Are you ready to play Farm Girl Friday?

We are continuing our
right here on my blog
for a while by popular demand:)
YeeHaw!!!

Now that we are finished
making all of the
 Farm Girl Blocks
in my book

It's time to add the borders...
and the perfect finishing touch
is a super cute and fun
label for the back of your quilt!

I'm thinking that my
Farm Girl Tractor
from the book is th
e perfect block for your label!

I originally designed this block to use as a label
for my red Quilty Barn Along quilt which is also in my book
Farm Girl Vintage.

I embroidered the information
that I wanted on my label
 to look like smoke coming
 out of the smoke stack!

Then I added a few borders
 and then cute pinwheels
 for the finishing touch:)
to go to my original tutorial
for the borders and pinwheels:)

This block also makes a cute mini quilt.
So let's all make a Farm Girl Tractor
for this weeks Farm Girl Fridays...
are you in?
I can't wait to see
 them popping up all over

Be sure to use the
#FarmGirlTractorBlock
so we can all sew them!

In other Farm Girl news...
remember these Hand Mixers
from my last Farm Girl Vintage retreat?

Well I'm excited to announce that my
 Hand Mixer Block
is now available as a PDF pattern at
 Fat Quarter Shop
It comes in 6" and 12" size
 and is a perfect
Farm Girl Companion block
for the other 45 in the book!
if you want to
 "mix up"
even more farm girl fun!

Next week I'll be sharing
how to use my latest product
that is just hitting the shelves now.

They are the very first in a series called
Sew Simple Shapes.
This set is called
 BLOOM
and has endless possibilities
for making all kinds of flowers!

I'm sew excited!
I hope you will love using these 24 shapes as much as I do:)
I have many projects in mind for these...

I will be having a sew along called
BLOOM
using these templates
starting this January 18.
to get your set of my
Bloom Sew Simple Shapes

In the meantime...
I'll be showing you
 a few fun projects
to do with my BLOOM shapes.
It just takes a few scraps of fabric...

And a few "simple shapes"
to make something fun!

See you next week!
xx

Lori,
I wish I had just one thimble full of the talent you have! I love the tractor block and I am planning to make my grandson a quilt for Christmas this year using your tractor block. These Bloom shapes are awesome and planning to purchase in the near future so I can join in on the weekly Quilt along! From the sneak peek the Bloom quilt is GORGEOUS!

I adore you. Thank you for such a fun series! I haven't been able to play along, but have been plodding along on my own projects from your Farm Girl Vintage book. And I can't wait to get my hands on the bloom templates... I am not very experienced with applique, so I'm looking forward to getting a lot of practice!

Please don't let this weird you out, but a few weeks ago I dreamed that my husband and I moved into your house. I debated even telling you that because I didn't want to scare you, but it's true!!

Lori, I have read all the info about these shapes (cute as can be, by the way) but I can't tell if they are heat resistant. I like to use the starch-and-iron method for turning edges and I don't want to warp the templates.

I had a feeling the tractor would be the label! But I'm using your bee from Quilty Fun because this quilt is for my queen bee, my daughter Bea! Already have preordered the templates and some of your new line for the next qal!!!!

I'm glad you are having another Quilt Along! I missed out on the last one, and love the flowers for the new project! I also use the starch-and-press method with templates. Please let us know if these are heat resistant. Can't wait to get started!....oh, wait....Christmas projects aren't done yet! Good thing this is just a sneak peek!
