Hello cute people!
Welcome to week nine:)
If you want to make my
Sweetie Pie Quilt
Now that all of our
Gingham Daisies
are completed...
lets get them appliquéd!
I showed you
last week that I
worked with 1/2 of the
quilt at a time.
I started by appliquéing
the daisies around
all of the edges.
Use your seam lines
to center the daisies.
The daisies measure
1 3/4" from the edge.
After lining up...
I pinned and appliqued.
I worked all the way around
the edges on both halves.
For the daisies in the
middle of the quilt
I used my
6 1/2" Trim-It Ruler
and lined up the lines
with the seams...
Then placed the daisy underneath.
The lines on the ruler
really help to
make sure it's centered.
Now appliqué all of the daisies...
on both halves like this.
Now sew them together...
And finish the last four daisies!
YaY!
Next week we will do
the outside borders
and I'll show you my finished
xx

Beautiful!! I've laid mine out and hope to sew it together today. I've made mine smaller to fit our 'display' wall! We have a few super fruit lovers in the house.....and some who only love their fruit in pie form :) - so this quilt could not have been better designed for our home. Thank you, Lori!!
Thank you so much for sharing this awesome quilt. I've learned so much from reading your books and your tutorials. I really like the way you do your appliqué. I've only done it with heat and bond and sewn with a machine.
Do you appliqué your really small pieces (like a strawberry stem) the same way you do your larger pieces? Thank you so much. Looking forward to the next QAL.
