Introducing Polka Dot Stitches...

Yay!!!!...I have a new fabric line coming out!
My new line was inspired by
circles, doilies, crochet,
the 60's (when I was born)
and of course...embroidery.
I learned how to embroider when I
 was 6 years old...
and so I have been having
an ongoing love affair
 with stitching ever since:)

Introducing
......
......
by
Lori Holt
of
Bee in my Bonnet
for
Riley Blake Designs

I just have 2 yards of precuts to
start designing with and to
get working on a few new patterns!

It's always soooo hard for me
to cut into my pre yardage because
I'm afraid I will run out
before my bolts of the
fabric line get here...
which will be in about 3 weeks!
YIKES!!!

Here are my 2 yard cuts
in a nice little stack
in my front room.
I am missing the 4 solids
that have not arrived yet.
The solids are
 red, aqua, gray and white.

Total number of fabrics in
Polka Dot Stitches...
28
 including solids:)

Red/Pink/Gray
colorway

By the way...
the circles on this print each
measure 2 1/2" across:)

Aqua/Yellow/Gray
colorway

Gray/AppleGreen/White
colorway

I'm really excited about
these 3 "words" prints that
I designed to go in the line.
First I drew up diagrams
for common embroidery stitches ...
(just like they used to put
in the iron on embroidery patterns)
And then I added words that
 have to do with stitching.
(vintage embroidery stitching
 and crochet stitches:)

I think these "word" prints will
 make fun backgrounds!

I currently have them all rolled up and waiting to be played with.
They are waiting impatiently...
inside my cute new aqua utility cart!
I picked it up from IKEA while
 there last month...
lucky me...
I have an IKEA 10 minutes
 from my house:)

As you can see from the
 quilt hanging on the wall...
(Vintage Dishes - made with Sew Cherry)
Polka Dot Stitches fits in rather nicely
with my other fabric lines.

I have 4 new quilts drawn up along with
2 other quilty patterns....
I will start cutting into it
first thing Monday morning!!!

I'd love to hear how you feel
 about my new line....
I hope you like it and that you want
to play with Polka Dot stitches too!

I love hearing from you and
I read each and every comment with
a smile on my face...thank you so much for all of your kind words!!!
Until then...
have a quilty kind of day!
xx
Lori

I have loved every line of fabric that you have designed...I have quite a bit in my stash as well! I love anything with dots or circles, so this one is great. The gray/green really speaks to me...as does the words fabric.

Once again you have created a winner! I love the green apple colorway. I love the "words" as well. So fun for all of us who embroider, stitch, crochet, and more.

Anyway like ever other line you have ever made I LOVE this one too and can't wait to get my hands on some of it. You can be sure that this will make its way into my Farmers Wife Quilt.

Congratulations on another wonderful fabric line. So cute!

Super cute line of fabrics. I still have my Coats & Clark "Learn How" book (with the green cover) from long ago--your stitches fabric takes me back to being a kid when my mom would buy those printed pot holders (mine was a bear holding a spoon) to embroider. Add some ric rac accents and a few yo yos and I'm ready to think up a "Polka Dot Stitches" table topper and chair covers for the little table and chairs set from when our daughter was little. Thanks for jogging the fun memories!

I love your lines, and I think my favorite of this one is the Gray/AppleGreen/White colorway! I've fallen on the gray bandwagon, like a lot of other people. The only thing I would have liked better is if you had an orange/gray colorway...lol.

Your new fabric line is so pretty. I was going to say so whether or not you offered a giveaway! Really nice-looking prints, which I can imagine are difficult to design. Your aqua cart is so cute! Lucky you to live near an Ikea. I would like to finish my new sewing room with Liatorp bookcases, but cannot figure how in the world to get them from Ikea to my house, 90 minutes away. Delivery fees run nearly as high as another bookcase! Thanks for all you share on your blog. You're an inspiration.

I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your blog tonight. After coming home from a terrible root canal, mouth still numb, I stumbled across your site. I have been reading ever since and it's long past bed time. The memories you've shared, remind me so much of the times when I was a child. We are about the same age... This new fabric line is fabulous! I cannot wait to see your wonderful creations, which I am sure, will delight all of us. Applique is my passion and I find such relaxation through the rhythm of my hand and needle. I look forward to being able to create some wonderful treasures to pass down to my daughter. Thank you for the evening you've given me. I really have enjoyed myself more than you realize. I would love to purchase the patterns "Apron Club" and "Grandmother's Kitchen". If you could please let me know how I would go about doing so.
