BLOOM Sew Simple Shapes
We will be making block eighteen today:)
These are my prints I've chosen for my appliqués.
We will be using A-9 and A-19 Sew Simple Shape
From BOTH fabric and interfacing:
Cut 3 - 3" for the hearts (I used 3 different prints)
Cut 2 - 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" for first set of leaves
Cut 2 - 1 1/2" x 2 1/2"for second set of leaves
Prepare 3 stems 6 1/2", 4 1/2" and 4".
Cut your background 9" square.
1. Trace your shapes onto the interfacing.
2. Trim and cut and X in the interfacing for turning.
3. Clip each cleavage on the hearts.
4. Turn and press your appliqué shapes.
Press your fabric in half like this.
Place your longest stem on the center fold.
Measure 2" to the left of the stem and draw a
thin line for the second to the longest stem placement.
Repeat for the other side with the shortest stem.
All 3 stems should look like this:)
Measure 1 1/2" down from the center top edge
of your background and place the heart like this.
Measure 3 1/2" from the topped to place the heart on the left side....
And 4" down to place the heart on the right side.
Now arrange your leaves and like this and glue or pin baste into place.
When appliqué is completed...
trim up your block to 8 1/2" square.
Cut your border strips and squares ...
And sew up your block!
I love the sweet simplicity of this block, don't you?
Ready...set...sew!
