Well hello cute people!
I want to show you what I sewed a while back...
bags...
and lots of them!
In fact...
I went on quite the bag sewing frenzy.
It all started with my
fabulous friend Monica
and Pinterest.
Let me explain.
Monica sent me a picture of a bag
that she had pinned.
The bag was made by
and was adorable!!!
I smiled when I saw that Erin
had used my Sew Cherry fabric.
The pattern she used came from
a tutorial by my friend Ayumi.
Monica wanted to make one and I did too...
so long story short...
she had the great idea to
sew our bags together!
I said...Heck Yeah!!!
The bag takes 5 fat quarters
and we decided that I would send her
5 Sew Cherry FQ's and she would send me
5 of her HMYY fat quarters....
so that we could make bags out of
each others fabric!
Here's the bag I made from
my Sew Cherry fabric line.
It was so fun and easy to make...
Ayumi has the best tutorials!
I love how the bag gathers at the top.
Here is a view of the inside...

all kinds of good stuff.
Here's the one I made out of the
adorable HMYY fat quarter's
that Monica sent me.

But the fun didn't stop at just 2 bags...
we also decided that we needed
to make one out of DS fabrics...
here is my version.

Of course you know that I
couldn't stop there...
I just had to make one from my
Daisy Cottage line...
Inside Daisy Cottage bag.
Then to top it all off...
we really wanted to make a sweet bag
out of our
sweet fabric.
Su-weeet!!!
Inside my PKM bag.
I had to cap my lunch bag sewing frenzy
at 5 for right now so that I
could move on to sewing samples for spring market with
Millie's Closet.
But I'm sure I will be making
more in the future!
to go straight to Ayumi's great tutorial

I am absolutely loving these bags!
Great idea to sew at the same time and encourage each other. I usually sew in multiples too. I've often wished that Xerox machines would work on things I've sewn, to make multiples, so I just make multiples as I go along now.

I just bought lots and lots of vintage linens - pillow cases, tea towels, napkins and table clothes. I can't think of a better way to use them. They would look fantastic with your FB's. I am charmed by your bags...they remind me so much of a bag my Grandma made for me. She used a 'waxed' cottage cheese container as the form for the bag and it had the same gathered top as yours. I look quite forward to creating one. I thankyou for sharing with us. Your fabric is so beautiful.

Aren't virtual sew alongs fun? I moved several states away from my partner in crime and best friend and we so cross state sew alongs all the time. We have a lot of projects we're working on, and I'm sure we both would love to add this cute bag!

Darling fabric and darling bags! I could use several of these bags as plastic bags have been banned by city ordinance in my community. We now either have to buy paper bags at the stores when we get our groceries; or, bring our own bags.......and I can't think of a better way to bring my own bag to the store than to make several of these in those cheerful prints!
