The First Cut is the Deepest...

Last week I took the Riley Blake ribbon off of my Fat Quarter bundle of "Sew Cherry" and laid them out on my cutting board...

I pressed each and every piece and marvelled at the fact that I was ironing my very own fabric for the very first time!...girls...I'm here to tell ya that dreams do come true:)

I was afraid and exited all at the same time to line up my ruler and slide my bling-ee red rotary cutter along the edge.
This is it ...the very first cut documented for you...my bloggy friends to share in my bliss.
Am I silly to make such a big deal about the first cut of my very first fabric line?

Probably.

But that's okay...I've always been known for my silliness...just ask my Mom...LOL:)

And the cutting continues...

Can I ask you what the name of that wedge ruler thing is called and where can I get one please?

Oh I would be so giddy! I am so excited for you. You need to frame those first salvage pieces - like business' frame their first dollar.

It is not silly at all.. The fabric is just soooo beautiful! And sometimes it is like you are hurting that beautiful fabric.. you just have to convince yourself that what you are making is an even more beautiful display of all of the fabric TOGETHER>.

Congratulations on the designing of this cute, cute fabric and for having the courage to cut into it. I am so excited to see what you are making and for this fabric to come to the quilt shops.

No way are you silly! I'm not sure I could have forced myself to cut into a piece of this yummy fabric. However, since you are the designer and I am only in love with this line I am going to have to get myself a set of FQ bundles and make some aprons, some new runners for my kitchen table and perhaps some yardage for new curtains in my county kitchen. I've always wanted a vintage country kitchen in this old farmhouse and this is the most vintage'ish (new word, teehee)fabric I've seen and it is the perfect line.

CONGRATS!!!!!
