This is what my yard looks like in the early summer - that is minus Sterling and Kassidy along with several neighborhood kids, balls, bats, frisbees, waterballoons, airsoft guns etc, that are a constant at our place.
This is a shot at the front door area. Sorry, but all these pix are not as clear as I thought. Hopefully, you get the idea...
The side front yard...
Through the gate to the backyard...
And in through the gate...
Mr. Honey made me these trellises one year for Mother's Day. I drew them up, and he built them and then the whole family painted them.
There are 6 total and each one is different.
(yes, we do take time from the yardwork to enjoy)...
As you can see, we like to plant in all kinds of vintage containers. Mr. Honey has been known to brake for garage sales now and then, when he spies old washtubs for sale.

Here is the vegetable and herb garden in raised beds. Mr. Scarecrow watches over it every year, usually he's sporting a new pair of overalls that I have picked up at a thrift shop. Sometimes I make Mrs. Scarecrow instead by putting a floral dress and an old apron along with garden gloves and hat on her.
Mr. Honey and I built all of the fences in our yard. Again, I drew them up along with all of the plans for the yard - because well, you know by now that I like to draw!
I hope you enjoyed the quick tour of our "Cottage Garden"...I wanted to show you an overall view first, with closeups to come later...I enjoy being out as much as I can.
It is alot of work, and some years it looks better than others, but to me - just having the sunshine on my face and the smell of herbs and flowers and the sound of the birds...makes it all worthwhile.

Lori I just love your cottage garden.
Here in Florida the sun scorches alot of the plants and the best time of year to have such a display is March and October.
Love the washtubs!
Hi Lori. Thanks for the garden tour. Your yard looks gorgeous! I see we like to use the same type of "containers" for flower gardening. I have a couple of old wash tubs with wave petunias, an old red wagon with pots of begonias and a couple of old wheelbarrows with purple & white wave petunias. I love the area around your flag & would love to do something like that around our flag pole. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a great week-end!
I love your entire garden! We are in the process of buying a new house and I only dream it had a garden like that, but I know my husband, he won't do it, too much work. Oh well, I can always container garden I guess! Thanks for sharing!
You have put so much work and planning into your yard, and it shows! Beautiful!
How do you ever get any quilting done? That is a fabulous yard. I would sit in it all day long. WOW
Beautiful and so peaceful.
Love your garden! I used to have lots and lots of flowers like that and always enjoyed them so very much. Still love my much smaller container garden now - something about flowers and quilting seem to go hand in hand. Thank you for the tour!! Carol
Gorgeous! Looks like you both spend a lot of time working in your yard. What a wonderful retreat! How do you find time to do all that gardening, as well as your designing?! Great job :-)
Your garden is lovely. Isn't it funn to get out in the garden and 'creaate'?
What a pretty yard you have! Thanks for showing us all those photos.
What a beautiful garden. It shows how much you and your husband enjoy taking care of it. I wish I enjoyed gardening half as much as you but, I suffer from the heat and it's hard for me to work in the summer heat. I loved all of your pictures, too!
WONDERFUL!
Everything is so gorgeous! Does it take hours every day? It's just lovely!
Simply BEE-U-TIFUL!!!
Your garden is awesome. I had to check your profite to see where you were located. Surely it had to be in the south to have such lovely flowers. What a surprise. Gave me hope for my place in Michigan. I sure have a long way to go to measure up to you. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring.
Picture Perfect yard. What a great place.
Oh Lori! I could just sit in your garden for days on end! Dreamy, dreamy, dreamy!!!
Your yard is beautiful!! I would want to be outside all day!!
Your cottage garden is beautiful! I can see where you'd love to sit and relax and look at it all! It would be a good place to read, knit, or work on some handsewing too.
Beautiful garden Lori!
Truly so incredibly beautiful. I hope the wedding went well. You can relax for 30 seconds now. Ok times up. :-)
OH MY!!! I am in love with your garden. Everything is just adorable and so well manicured. I love the bike, the gates, the trellis, the flag, washtubs and on and on.
As I was driving down the street Sunday I saw someone was tossing out a wheel barrow. I had hubby hop in the truck with me and go back and get it. I'm going to plant flowers in it. I wanna be a gardener like YOU!!! :-)
How is it that I've never been to your blog before???
Only good thing is that I can now sit back, relax, and have a great time looking at all your wonderful pics--this should take awhile!
What a lovely little haven...you must not have deer like I do......I bet you spend many happy hours outside puttering in the soil.
Happy Sewing
You have a beautiful garden!
Your gardens are just beautiful, I love your ideas of the old washtubs for planters, but of course I love anything vintage.
Your flower beds are gorgeous. My husband and I love to grow things, too, and he builds things for me.
My neighbor was selling a wash tub at his garage sale a couple of months ago, and I didn't think I needed it, so I didn't buy it. I'm going to have to quit doing that!!! Now he's on vacation and I can't call him to see if he sold it or still has it. I'll be knocking on his door as soon as he gets home!!!
I love your blog. I'm so glad Nanette introduced us. :)
