Christmas Cookies...

Today I am participating in a virtual cookie exchange. It's hosted by my friend Jodi from Pleasant Home who always has the best ideas!

These are "Fairy Drops"...my families all time favorite Christmas cookie.
So when Jodi invited me to participate...I knew exactly which recipe to share!

They are yummy-licious and oh so festive because of the crushed candy canes sprinkled on top:)
Okay girls...tie on your aprons...this is a good one!
**************************
Fairy Drops
************
4 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tarter
1 teaspoon salt
Sift above together..
Beat 1 cup real butter (softened) until smooth.
Add...
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup sugar
continue beating until fluffy.
Add 2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons pure almond extract
Mix until just combined. Cover and chill dough for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and arrange on cookie sheet. Slightly flatten with the bottom of a glass.
Bake for 8 minutes.
Let cool completely on a wired rack.
Frost and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
Serve them to your family and watch them smile!

Hi Lori!
Just wanted to let you know that if I come across another cupboard, I'll let you know. Does it have to be pink? I've seen it in yellow too.

I totally loved all these yummy cookies and what a fun idea.

So while I was roaming around on your lovely blog I ran across the "Tie and apron on your water bottle" and was wonder if you had ever done that tutorial on these little jewels if so I'd love to see it.

Happy holidays,

Love the look of the Fairy Drops - will have to make me some! I have been up to my eyeballs making your paper flowers...I'm giving my friends "Gift-Wrapping Packages" for Christmas - each package contains 8 paper flowers, red and white twine, 8 cellophane bags, 8 gift tags, 8 glue dots and 8 pieces of tissue...and they're all bundled up in a bigger cellophane bag tied with twine and sealed with a paper flower - what do you think, cute? I hope they'll like them - but whether they do or not I LOVE them and I LOVE the paper flowers - I think I made about 120 of them! Thanks so much for the idea and the tut! xo, Nan

We make these at Christmas too. Melt in your mouth. We've never frosted them--I'll have to give that a try with the crushed peppermints. We just always sprinkle them with colored sugar.
You are right--they are so good and don't last long.

My gosh they are lovely. Jodi has good ideas. It is going to be fun to see what everyone makes. I'm just glad to watch. I had to get to work by 6 this morning. It is going to be a long day for me. Tired already. Back to work.
