I heart camping...

...at Fish Lake. This is where I have been for the last week.

Isn't it absolutely gorgeous? You can obviously see why I heart camping....

Being in the mountains always clears my mind of any stress and makes me feel rejuvinated.
It's always good for me to get back to nature and relax. It sure brings peace to my soul!
We all heart camping and especially love being with friends there.
This year our group consisted of 14 families for a grand total of 42 people!
All of us get along so well together...the kids had a ball as usual with plenty of friends to hang out with.

Are you wondering what we did there for a whole week? Here are some of them...

We did most of our cooking in Dutch Ovens... a few things that we made were .... cheesy potatoes....BBQ ribs....beef stew...calico chicken...peach & apple cobbler....and cherry chocolate cake.
Everything tastes good when it's cooked outdoors.

The fisherman like to do as much fishing as possible....we often eat late, keeping dinner warm for them in the Dutch Ovens when the fish are really biting.

And all kinds of games to play.... of course...everybodys favorite thing to do.

We always take lots of crafts for the kids and this year I took a huge amount of yarn for them to make friendship bracelets...this is just one of Kassidy's arms. She made all of these and probably about 15 more.

Most of the boys usually have their knives and search for some good wood to whittle.

Mr. Honey always brings his guitar along with several others. You can always hear them playing beautiful music throughout the camp. The accoustics sound especially beautiful in the mountains.
Mr. Honey has played since he was 12 and even I've been known to sing a time or two around the campfire!

And of course you know that I always take handwork along.

This year I took my hexies...

I like to keep my hands busy while visiting around the picnic tables.

Here they are stacked up and waiting to be pressed when I get home.

Speaking of going home...this was the view from the truck as we got on the road and headed towards home. Heavenly Father sure did create a beautiful world for us to enjoy!
It always ends too soon for me....but what a great time we had...we have the sunburns and mosquito bites to prove it!...LOL
Now it's back to reality...and loads of laundry.

Looks like a fun trip! I'm not much for camping but my mom just bought a cabin up near Yellowstone. That's my type of camping! Complete with indoor plumbing. ha

I'm having my vacation through you! OMG, what a wonderful time. Your trip is so up my alley. Camping with friends/families, dutch oven cooking (my favorite kind of cooking!), making your gorgeous hexis and Kassidy with her AMAZING friendship bracelets... I want to babel on and on - but I'll spare you.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful camping trip! xoxo mOLT

I loved the pics. Loved them. My favorites were your family together. I love the cute look on your face. I also really thought Mr. Honey playing the guitar was super cute. Sounds like you had a great time. I love being together with my family on vacation.

You had me at Calico Chicken! What is it? I've never heard of it before so you must tell me...of course I loved your hexies, so, sew cute! I'm not familiar with Fish Lake - is it in the Uintahs? I grew up in SLC and every summer my folks dragged us all over creation to camp - I have great memories of that but unfortunately I married a non-camper so I haven't been in years! xo, Nan

Yay for camping! Someday I'm going to see Fish Lake in real person. It's only been on our list when we go to Utah like 10 times. ;o) Glad you have a fantabulous time!
