Sewing with Kassidy...

Kassidy is working on a quilt for her bedroom.

She has had this layer cake for a long time...

And she finally decided on a pattern that she thought would be fun to make.

It's from this book and it's the quilt on the cover....made with one layer cake...perfect.

She likes to kick back and watch icarly while she stitches...LOL

She's making good progress...

She likes to choose her own fabrics and she decides where they go in the quilt too.

She does everything herself....

Except for the rotary cutting....that's when I just say no.
I'm not prepared to deal with "owies" like that!

I worked beside her on my machine...making progress on my spring dresdens...don't laugh...it's still summer so I am only one season behind!

Tomorrow I pick up this quilt from the quilters and will be able to bind it ...yay!

Didn't work with my daughter - maybe it will with my granddaughter! That looks like so much fun sewing together! Can't wait to see that quilt that's coming back from the quilter.

Just sew totally cool that you and Kass sew together! Can I adopt her once in a while? You know Oregon is only a 12 hour drive from you. ;o)

I managed to get my DD1 into a fabric shop the other day to choose some fabric for a skirt, I am not holding my breath for anything more Lol But DD2 is a little more promising she has been doing a little stitching lately so fingers crossed! oh I am sure you meant your spring quilt is for next spring(ultra organised)*wink*

Kassidy is making one beautiful quilt - I love her choice of fabrics. My daughter and I used to sew together when she was in junior high and high school many years ago. I wasn't quilting then, but it was fun sewing with Sher. How the years fly by. Enjoy the lovely times together, my dears! Carol

That is going to be such a cute quilt. It's so nice to see younger girls want to learn to quilt. I'm trying to get my daughter into it, but she lost interest in it pretty fast unfortunately. I was hoping she'd use up some of my stash.

Her quilt is going to be beautiful! I love that she is crafty at such a young age (having a hobby like that should keep her out of trouble in the years to come :) I wish I would have kept busy with sewing instead of ... the other stuff.

Your dresdens look amazing! So cute. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Kass' quilt will look wonderful out of the Eden line. I made an Easter Egg runner with the same fabric last Spring, and it's such a fun line.
I'm looking forward to having a peek of your new Dresden pattern.

Kassidy's quilt is going to be gorgeous! I love the fabric. That is the line that my daughter in law chose for me to make her baby quilt out of. Kassidy, you have such pretty hands and nails and your ring is so pretty. I love your flower pin cushion bracelet.
Lori, I can't believe you are 3 seasons ahead on your dresden quilt!!!

How lovely that your daughter and you can both work on your quilts together :) I can't wait until my little girl is a little older and she can take on larger projects like that herself to. Such lovely colors to! Looking forward to seeing more of your spring dresden blocks to. I would love to attempt making one and I'm sure when I do I will be a few seasons behind to *grin*. Have a lovely week!
