Kassidy makes a pie...

My daughter Kassidy loves to cook and especially she loves to bake. One day when she was spending the day at grandma & grandpa's house...

Grandma decided to teach her how to make a pie.

This is my other mother...Mr. Honey's Mom. She is a dear gentle lady and truly is my other mother.... and has been for 29 years now!
I am so blessed to have her in my life.
I'm so grateful to her for raising such a wonderful son...my Mr. Honey.
She and Grandpa raised 5 wonderful boys....Mr. Honey is the youngest.
She is a fabulous cook and is especially known for her delicious pies. She wants to pass the tradition on to Kass.
They are making Kassidy's daddy his favorite pie.

Grandpa took pictures and cheered Kassidy on.

Grandma teaches Kass how to flute the edges with her fingers for a beautiful crust.

Kassidy enjoyed every minute of thier lesson and remembered every detail of what Grandma taught her....enough to make pie on her own when she got home.

Almost finished with the fluted edges and ready for the filling...

Grandpa snapped this picture of Kassidy and the completed pie...Lemon Meringue...just out of the oven.
He's a proud Grandpa...he wants Kassidy to grow up to make pies just like Grandma...

I have such great memories of times spent with my grandmother. We picked berries, shucked peas, played with her old Avon perfume bottles and enjoyed so many wonderful times together. I lost my grandmother 6 years ago and I miss her still. She was a special lady to me.
I am sure that Kassidy feels the same about her lovely grandma- Your mother is building lovely memories with your daughter.
Warmest regards,
Anna

Great job Kassidy! How wonderful that grandpa took these lovely photos! Please ask grandma what is on her rolling pin!!! I'm curious as to her "secret". It appears to be cheesecloth or something to possibly make the dough not stick?!!? hmmmmm...
Oh how baking pies will go a long way in life!~a great talent to have! Just like quilts... :)

What a wonderful memory! Doing things with your Grandmother is something you will never forget and always hold dear! And to have pictures is even more special.

I have loved when you have told me the stories of Kerry's mom and all the pies she has made. (especially for him) Now I have pictures to match. Kass is learning a very important family tradition.

She will definitely use her newly acquired talent many times throughout her life and I know her family and others will love her for it.

I love being a grammi and look forward to passing on what I know to my grandchildren too.

That is so sweet that she can grow up to have memories of making pies and bonding with her grandmother. Great pictures and her pie looked fabulous!

I treasure my grandmother and the time she spent with me teaching me how to quilt. Those memories are priceless!

Oh, and I signed up to take your Count Your Blessings class on Sept 9th! Rae Ann invited me and she says your applique method is so super easy ~ the best around! I'm so excited! Can't wait to meet you in person (although I think we have may have met before through Lori Neubert in Lehi (?) but you wouldn't remember that. :)

Anyways, have a great day!

Nothing like making memories with Grandma and Grandpa. I am sure she is going to be a good little "pie maker".
Love,

What a yummy looking pie Kassidy. It's so nice to hear that you have a wonderful second Mom. I do too, mine raised seven wonderful sons. It's nice to see Kassidy making memories with her Grandma. I sure miss both of my Grandmas. Thanks for sharing!

i love the pie but I think that you need to give us the recipe for the crist and pie, I think that it would only be fair. I was wondering about your class in Sep I was wondering where and when I would love to come and see the master at work. Hope to hear from you.

Verklempt. What a sweet post. And they are making memories. I miss my mom when I see this. My mom made the most incredible pies and crust. I feel bad that my kids never learned from her. And I really didn't either. I make horrible crust. Well, lets get real. I buy my crust now but it is awful compared to real crust like your MIL is making with Kassidy. My sister makes great pies and crust. Before my mom died she told my sister to bake Mr. Hive pies when she could because she felt bad that he'd go without now that she was dying. Isn't that funny. She was worried Dave would go without homemade apple pie. So every time we go to Polly's, she makes Dave a pie. Sweet sweet post. Love the pics of grandma H and Kassidy.
