of the Sweet Land Sew Along!!
If you are just joining us and would
like to know more about this sew along
and how it works
to read my blog post called
"Bee Prepared"
where I tell you all about it:)
if you still need to download
the sew along guide.
We are making the
Sweet Land Quilt
which finishes at
88" x 88"
It consists of 5 pieced blocks
and 4 applique blocks
as well as a scrappy pieced border!
To make the appliqué blocks,
we will be using my
Sew Simple Shapes called of course...
Sweet Land Sew Simple Shapes!
The collection that we are using
for the quilt is...
AMERICANA!!
Week One tutorial was for the
Sweet Land Applique Block #1
to go to that blog post and tutorial:)
Week Two tutorial was the
Sashings and Cornerstone
blocks for the quilt.
to go to that blogpost and tutorial
AMERICANA STAR
Because I could not do a video
for week one applique block...
I am now feeling much better
and I have my voice back (YaY!)
And so I thought that I would
film this week
for the pieced block instead!
to watch my video part one
and please keep in mind that I
am still on a learning curve
when filming myself so
so I am aware that I need to
adjust the bottom of the
camera stand so that what I am doing
on my ironing board is always in view
and I will do that
for sure from here on out!!
Please leave me a kind comment there
so that I am brave enough
to keep trying lol!!
(that is if you want me to of course)
EDIT**
I did film a part two
and here is that link:
Below are a few photos that I took
before filming and sewing the block...
that I took afterwards!!
YaY!!!
All my blocks are done!
I just need to applique and then
trim down those blocks afterwards.
YaY again!
Then it will be time to
piece wonderfully scrappy border:)
Thanks so much for sewing with me today
and I will meet you
right back here next week:)
I'll show you how to make
a pieced block for the border!
xx

Thank you for doing these videos and blogs. I get it technology is sometimes difficult.:) Even though I couldn’t really see what you were doing, the little bits I did see did help me understand the process of making the blocks. I am relatively new to quilting and I appreciate all you do to teach us. I look forward to many more blogs and videos. Thank you!
I cannot imagine having to videotape myself for all the world to see as I instruct and teach. You have many many great videos and the gist of this block was evident in this one. Please keep trying Lori and I enjoy watching. Thanks for bringing the joys of quilting back
