Say-It Sew Along - Bee Prepared!!

Well hello quilty friends!
Welcome to the "BEE PREPARED" blog post
for my next sew along called the
"SAY-IT" Sew Along

to view the story and to see all things
TYPE/OGRAPHY

It's my newest collection and is
so fun to play with!
It works well with
BOTH vintage and modern quilting!

Of course my storyboard usually
has a quilt on the cover
because that is what I normally do
for my sew alongs but for this one
I thought it would be fun to do something
that I also enjoy making and displaying
in my home for every occasion...
BANNERS!

And yes I did design a quilt
(or two lol) for this collection and
this one is called
"JUST MY TYPE"

And yes I do love to design
cute boxes for my quilt kits!!
Just My Type Quilt Kit
 comes in this box:)
I love it!

Here is a little close up of my
 TYPE/OGRAPHY fabric...

And we will be using it
to make eight banners total
 during this sew along:)

The first two that we will
be making are the winter banners,
Merry Christmas and Let it Snow.
We will begin on November 21st!

For the winter banners kick off
I'll be doing a video on my
YOU TUBE Channel showing you how to
make the stocking from the
"GLYPH" Sew Simple Shapes set
and the letter "M" from the
"LETTERS" Sew Simple Shapes set.

Each banner is made the same way
so once you know how to make one
you'll be good to go!!
Here on my blog for the winter banners
I'll show lots of pictures
 and explain tips about each
of the two banners.

The spring banner tutorials
will be here on my blog on
January 23rd so you can make them
in time to display for spring!

The summer banner tutorials will be
here on my blog as well,
on April 24th

And last but not least I chose
these two for the fall banners,
August 14th

You are ALL invited to join in
on the banner making fun
and here is your invitation!

As I mentioned there are two sets of
 Sew Simple Shapes
and we will be using both sets.

This one is the GLYPHS
and has all of the shapes for
the banner pieces to put the
letters of numbers on.
For example...
 (the stocking, tree, snowman, mitten)
and also includes all
of the punctuation and numbers.

And this is the set
with all of the letters...
both uppercase and lowercase.
I designed both of these sets
to work well together and to
 give us endless options of
saying whatever we want...
wether its on a banner, a quilt,
a quilt back or quilted runners
or pillows or whatever!

As with all of my sew alongs,
 there is a FREE
downloadable sew along guide.

to download and copy yours!

I'm keeping mine in
 sleeve protectors inside my
TYPE-OGRAPHY Bee Keeper Binder.

The binder and guide has
everything that you need to
keep you organized for the
eight sew along banners such as
listed fabric and notions supplies...

The schedule of my tutorials...

The cutting for each banner...

The cutting for fabric and
interfacing for the letters and numbers...

And the fabric cutting for the GLYPHS.

Each banner has it's own page to
keep you organized and also
so that you know what fabric goes where!

And as per usual a page for taking
notes along the way!!!

Here are a few needed supplies
 to make the banners:

*Sew-In Interfacing
*Large and small scissors
*applique pins and pin holder
*Sue Daley Glue (Sue Glue)
*1 1/2" x 6 1/2" Ruler
*point to point turner
*seam ripper
*mechanical pencil for tracing
and if you are like me and need them,
*Stitchy Readers:)

Also you will definitely need
Bee in my Bonnet Design Boards
in all sizes!

To hang them I have new clothespins
that will work perfectly!
I will also show you how to
make your own double fold strips
out of matching fabric to clip
your banners to:)
You will need the
1" Clover bias tape maker for this.

Two other options are my
Bee Cute Lace and my
Large Vintage Trim Ric-Rac.
This is just a VERY SMALL sampling
of all of the colors that are available.

For some of the banners you will need

Cute Little Buttons

in a variety of sizes and colors.

I am looking forward to showing you how
to make these fun banners
and my hope is that once you know how,
you will use all of the
 endless possibilities to
personalize many many banners
according to your own
 family and occasions!

Below, I put together just a few
of the possibilities/suggestions
that you can make with the two sets
of Sew Simple Shapes!
GLYPHS and LETTERS

Honestly these are just a few...
use your imagination and it will
take you to lots and lots
of ways to
"say-it"
with fun creative projects:)

I will meet you right back here on
 November 21st
and we will begin the
 SAY-IT Sew Along!!

xx
