Farm Fresh Sew Along - Week One!!

Welcome Quilty friends!!

Today is week one of the
FARM FRESH SEW ALONG

YaY!

We will be making the
FARM FRESH Quilt
which finishes at
 88" x 95"
It consists of 50 pieced
Farm Girl Blocks
from two of my books...

Farm Girl Vintage
and
Farm Girl Vintage 2

There will be a mix of both
6" and 12" blocks in our quilt:)
I'm so excited to be
sewing from these books again...
it's been a wonderful trip down
memory lane for me as I have been
 preparing for this sew along
and I want to thank you
for coming along with me:)

We will be making this quilt with
my latest fabric collection...
FARMER'S DAUGHTER
***This sew along will work
a little bit differently than my
 other sew alongs because...
 The patterns along with
 step by step instructions
are in the books, so I will be sewing
each and every one of the blocks
right along with you!
No need to sew ahead of time for me
as I usually do for tutorials.
For this sew along there is
no need for block instruction
because everything is already in the book:)
This format also allows you the choice
to sew your entire quilt at once
or space it apart like the schedule!

Of course I did the week one video
on my YouTube channel to kick it off!

to watch my video
and please leave me a comment
on my channel after watching the video:)

Here are this weeks blocks
which of course you saw in the video!
All are 6" finished blocks and
from the first book
FARM GIRL VINTAGE:
BABY CHICK
BAKING DAY
BUTTERCHURN
CANNING SEASON
COOL THREADS

I talked about several other things and...

Did a quick tutorial on the embroidery:)

I also talked about cutting your fabrics
and how to use the guide for this sew along.

I'm also going to be listening to
this book aa I sew along with you...
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm

And if I have time I'll also listen to
 The Egg and I

And as I get time I'll be
working/playing with my
Farmer's Daughter Junk Journals
that I briefly told you about in my video...

I've made the 5 signatures and have
just started to
lay the foundation for all kinds of
tuck spots and pockets for
my journaling tags and cards.

I'll show you progress on the pages
here each week as promised
and I'm hoping to have some by next week!

Now it's time for me to get busy sewing,
listening and journaling about
all things farm!.
I'm sew happy!!

Thanks so much for joining me today
and I'll be right back here next week
to show you my five finished blocks
from the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Book!

Until then...
have a Quilty kind of day:)
xx
