They are so easy and fun to make.... and even more fun to sleep on:)
They are just one more thing on my list of really addicting things to make...
I find myself coordinating fabrics from my stash to make (just one more) pillowcase...
Fabrics that look dreamy and vintagey and flowery...you know what I mean?
The kind that you want to dream on:)
The kind that you want to dream on:)
Well...last spring I made my very first one and it all started with Beata from Rosehip....the inspiration for all!
Who wouldn't be inspired by all of this
Cassie from You Go Girl was also also inspired by Beata...enough to do a tutorial on the pillowcases and the crochet edge.
And that's when I started making them...way back then.
If you are inspired to make your own...go see Cassie and follow her fabulous tutorial here.
Oh and...Sweet Vintagey Dreams!!!

Lori, I've had these on my list for so long, well since last spring and you sure have done more than I have (one would be more than I have) LOL. Love all your colors.
They are gorgeous, I love the edging and have bookmarked the tutorial. The only thing is, I never make pillow cases as I like them to match the duvet cover... maybe I can do this on my cushions instead.
So pretty! I wish I knew how to crochet :-(
Homemade pillowcases are the best! I made a ton of them when my two oldest daughters were in college. They're still using them! As soon as your new fabric line is available... look out!
Oh dear. . . Oh no! . . . I feel it sucking me in . . . ;D
love your pillowcases and the edgings are beautiful!! I use to make them long ago...guess i have to find my booklet of edgings and crochet needle!!
Oh, be still my heart!! These are wonderful! I make my grandsons pillowcases for each season. Of course, no crochet edges there!! But, for me, now that's a different story. I'm headed over to see the tutorial! This is the first thing I do on Monday mornings...read your blog! Love anything vintage!! I HEART YOUR BLOG!!!
Thank you soooo much for posting this! I needed a little push to pick up my crochet hook and yarn (no problem with the fabric portion). Your pillowcases are amazing, so pretty and colourful.
What a wonderful idea to use two different fabrics for the front and back! Why didn't I ever think of that when I didn't have enough fabric to make one!!! Also, that's how my aunt taught me how to crochet by putting a pretty finish on a pillowcase. Thanks for the reminder of something that is so simple but oh so very effective.
All those girls are amazing. It is fun to get inspired from others. I love your pillow cases. I'm afraid of joining in! I do like to crochet.
I LOVE these! I only know how to crochet leper bandages, but I'm going to watch this tutorial. lol I really want to make these!
They are lovely. That may be a good idea (although mine can't be so flowery, my husband wouldn't go for that.)
Perfect for Monday drearyness. LOVE them!!
These have been on my "to-do" list ever since I saw your cute red pillowcase up at the cabin. I promise, I will make them, and when I do, I have a feeling I will make one after another just like you.
I would love to learn how to do this. my grandmother made these and I have many of them. I also have hand towels with grandma's crocheted edges. Thanks for the memories.
I love these - such pretty colors and your use of 2 different fabrics is fabulous! What yarn did you use for the edging? I can see myself making a lot of these - thanks for the inspiration. Happy stitching -
So pretty! What type of yarn do you like to use for the edging? And what size hook? And I also want to make some from your new line of fabric!!!
Now I'm dreaming of sleeping on a vintage inspired pillow case. I really need to learn how to crochet. Thanks for the eye candy!
Yikes! I need to purchase some of these. Do you sell them? I just found your site tonight so maybe I missed that part.
Nancy
Love these! I can crochet and I can make the pillow cases but how the heck do you attach the crochet to the pillow case? I mean, do you make a hole for the crochet hook to go through? :) blessings, marlene
They are SO dreamy! But when in the heck have you had time to do these? You're a crazy woman! LOL ;o)
I love your pillowcases! That is on my "I want to do this soon" list. I enjoy your blog very much.
I love crocheted pillowcases too -- aren't they fun? Thanks for the reminder post -- I've been meaning to make more!
These are adorable! I love, love those fabrics...are you going to sell them? I'll buy! I love your new blog topper...so fun! Thanks for posting my button and we will have to get together sometime! I'm in Eagle Mountain! I've probably passed you at Pine Needles in Gardner Village...love that place...have you been to Material Girls?
Hi Lori. Thanks so much for the link to my tute. I am still in love with these pillowcases!
Happy day,
Cassie @ You Go Girl
Love these yummy pillow cases you have made!,, I have bookmarked the tutorial. Can you tell me the brand of yarn you are using for yarn to get those beautiful lace colors?
Thank you for sharing, I just love your blog & your patterns!
