Hello Quilty friends!!
Today is week four of the
FARM FRESH SEW ALONG
YeeHaw!
We are making the
FARM FRESH Quilt
which finishes at
88" x 95"
It consists of 50 pieced
Farm Girl Blocks
from two of my books...
and
Farm Girl Vintage 2
There is a mix of both
6" and 12" blocks in our quilt:)
I'm so excited to be
sewing from these books again...
it's been a wonderful trip down
memory lane for me
and I want to thank you
for coming along with me:)
***This sew along works
a little bit differently than my
other sew alongs because...
The patterns along with
step by step instructions
are in the books, so I will be sewing
each and every one of the blocks
right along with you!
No need to sew ahead of time for me
as I usually do for tutorials.
For this sew along there is
no need for block instruction
because everything is already in the book:)
This format also allows you the choice
to sew your entire quilt at once
or space it apart like the schedule!
I did the week one video
to watch my video
and please leave me a comment
on my channel after watching the video:)
All are 6" finished blocks and
from the first book
Farm Girl Vintage
to read my week one blog post

Other Places to find me:
I added a pocket here
underneath my beeswaxed utensils.
Yes I said beeswax!
I like to melt beeswax pellets
(using a little iron only for that use)
onto some of the images I print.
I love the way that it looks.
They become transparent,
the colors of the print really pop
and it adds a wonderful
texture to the page and looks very vintagey.
You can tell which ones that I have
"beeswaxed"
because you can sew thru them:)
I made this sweet strawberry
journal card and clipped it on
with a rusted paperclip.
I added some of my washi tape,
trim made with brown packaging paper
and a zig-zag stitch and then a word.
The base for the card is a little page
from a little vintage dictionary:)
Remember this flip out page with this tag
that I showed you in my video?
Well I got it decorated with bales of hay!
I added these beeswaxed
pretty flowers here:)
And then I covered the junk mail envelope
that I showed you last week
and made a tag to go inside,
choosing this rooster to show through
the window of the envelope.
I also tucked a canning jar
and a favorite sentiment
in the pocket as well.
Here's what the tag
looks like outside of the envelope.
I show you the back of my blocks
so it's only fitting that I
show you the back of my tags and cards!
On the opposite side on the
vintage quilting book page,
I added some beeswax potted flowers
and a hidden paperclip that
I made with vintage milk caps.
Here's the other side of that page
and the other side of the hidden paper clip!
I made this card to tuck underneath the clip.
Yes the cow is beeswaxed!
I added a punched circle from my paper,
a printable of a bottle of milk,
a flower that I made from book page,
old lace and a button,
and then at the bottom
I added some vintage lace trim.
Those are my additions for this week.
I'm having a lot of fun
and I'll show you more of my
Farmer's Daughter Junk Journal next week!
