Hello again farm friends!!
Today is week nine of the
FARM FRESH SEW ALONG
YeeHaw!
We are making the
FARM FRESH Quilt
which finishes at
88" x 95"
It consists of 50 pieced
Farm Girl Blocks
from two of my books...
and
Farm Girl Vintage 2
There is a mix of both
6" and 12" blocks in our quilt:)
I'm so excited to be
sewing from these books again...
it's been a wonderful trip down
memory lane for me
and I want to thank you
for coming along with me:)
***This sew along works
a little bit differently than my
other sew alongs because...
The patterns along with
step by step instructions
are in the books, so I will be sewing
each and every one of the blocks
right along with you!
No need to sew ahead of time for me
as I usually do for tutorials.
For this sew along there is
no need for block instruction
because everything is already in the book:)
This format also allows you the choice
to sew your entire quilt at once
or space it apart like the schedule!
I did the week one video
to watch my video
and please leave me a comment
on my channel after watching the video:)
All are 6" finished blocks and

Other Places to find me:
Okay let me walk you through some things
that I made for my journal this week:)
I'm now working in the second
signature since my first one is full!
If you remember I showed you in my
video for week one that
I have made five signatures.
I added another sweet beeswaxed flower,
And I added a bottom tuck with this
sweet kitty and a top tuck with one of
the butterflies that I showed you last week.
I tucked two journaling cards between them:)
Here you can see both tucks clearly
without the journaling cards.
Here's the other butterfly I showed you
last week but I wanted to show you
that I added antennae to them by punching
a small hole and adding thin hemp cord.
I find it an easy way to "put back"
the antennae after having to cut them
off when cutting out butterflies:)
I made another journaling card from
this print of a vintage
"Dogs and Cats" book inside page.
I decided this week that after making a
dog and cat "paper doll" that I wanted to
make more cards and tags with them
because besides the farm animals,
they were such an important part of
my childhood growing up on the farm
and I want to write down my memories
about my beloved childhood pets:)
I made one more kitty paper doll too:)
We had a cat named Whiskers!
Here are the dog journaling cards
and tags that I made this week.
Once again,
I found a lot of these printables
on Graphics Fairy Website.
I added a dog tag to this paper doll
that I made last week.
"P" is for Pepper,
one of the sheep dogs that we had!
I found a printable for an Irish Setter
because we had one named Butch.
He was my loyal companion,
I told him all of my secrets out on the
back porch as he laid his head
in my lap and I brushed him.
I still tear up when I think of him,
he was my favorite.
I found this fun image of a vintage ad,
for what I'm not sure but I thought it
would be fun to include in my journal.
I strung and added seven vintage
buttons across the top.
Another vintage ad:)
I couldn't resist making this
sweet little puppy into a tag:)
We had so many dogs on the farm,
mostly sheep dogs to help out with the herd.
I love this image.
I added a fabric tab and
vintage buttons again,
I love to use them often.
I used my Chunky Thread Yarn
in Raindrop for the buttons.
I also made this fun little journaling
notebook in a checkbook kind of style.
I like to add little notebooks into
my journals for writing memories
that need more space than the back
of a tag or a card.
Here is the front inside cover.
I've added a stamp and some of my
washi tape from my Prairie Fabric Collection.
Inside back cover view.
Can you tell what I used
to make the notebook paper?
Coffee filters!!
I flatten them out,
cut them into squares and round the corners, then sew them into the center of the cover
with my sewing machine:)
I'll show you more next week!!
